TK26R vs EDC2-DFT: how they differ
Size and weight
The Fenix TK26R and SureFire EDC2-DFT are the same length to within half a millimetre (150 mm (5.91 in)). At its widest point the SureFire EDC2-DFT is 8 mm slimmer (32 vs 40 mm). Weights are published on different bases (Fenix TK26R: 157 g without battery; SureFire EDC2-DFT: 159 g listed), so they are not directly comparable.
Brightness and throw
The Fenix TK26R is rated brighter: 1,500 lm maximum vs 700 lm for the SureFire EDC2-DFT, 114% more. For beam distance the SureFire EDC2-DFT reaches further: 632 m vs 350 m rated throw (81% more).
Battery
The Fenix TK26R runs on removable 18650 / 2x CR123A batteries; the SureFire EDC2-DFT runs on a removable 18650 battery.
Price
When we checked on Nov 4, 2026, the Fenix TK26R was $129.95 at fenixlighting.com and the SureFire EDC2-DFT from $287.00 at batteryjunction.com, so the Fenix TK26R cost $157.05 less. Prices change often, so check the current price before you buy.
Type
The Fenix TK26R is listed as tactical and the SureFire EDC2-DFT as edc, so they suit different jobs.
Which should you buy?
Choose the Fenix TK26R if you want more output (1,500 lm vs 700 lm). Choose the SureFire EDC2-DFT if you want a slimmer profile (8 mm narrower) and longer throw (632 m vs 350 m). We compare published size, weight, output, throw and battery only, not runtime, interface or build quality.
