P20iX vs EDC2-DFT: how they differ
Size and weight
The Nitecore P20iX is the shorter light: 141.5 mm (5.57 in) against 150 mm (5.91 in), a difference of 8.5 mm (6%). At their widest points they are about the same (31.8 vs 32 mm). Weights are published on different bases (Nitecore P20iX: 116 g listed (battery unspecified); SureFire EDC2-DFT: 159 g listed), so they are not directly comparable.
Brightness and throw
The Nitecore P20iX is rated brighter: 4,000 lm maximum vs 700 lm for the SureFire EDC2-DFT, 471% more.
Battery
The Nitecore P20iX runs on a removable 21700 battery; the SureFire EDC2-DFT runs on a removable 18650 battery. For scale, a 21700 cell is about 21 × 70 mm and a 18650 about 18 × 65 mm (nominal).
Price
When we checked on Nov 4, 2026, the Nitecore P20iX was $119.95 at nitecorestore.com and the SureFire EDC2-DFT from $287.00 at batteryjunction.com, so the Nitecore P20iX cost $167.05 less. Prices change often, so check the current price before you buy.
Type
Both are EDC lights in our catalog with a tube body.
Which should you buy?
Choose the Nitecore P20iX if you want a shorter light (8.5 mm shorter) and more output (4,000 lm vs 700 lm). On the specs we track, the Nitecore P20iX is ahead or level everywhere; the SureFire EDC2-DFT makes sense mainly if its price, interface or a feature we don't track suits you better. We compare published size, weight, output, throw and battery only, not runtime, interface or build quality.
